Ms Cathy Armor

Independent member who joined Council in 2019. Former Director of People at Cambridge University Press. Deputy Chair of Council, Chair of Nominations Committee and a member of the Finance and Resources and Remuneration Committees.

Mr James Burkill

Professional staff member who joined the Council in 2024. Senior Technician (3D Fabrication Workshop). Member of the People Committee.

Ms Catherine Bray

Independent member who joined Council in 2020. Self-employed arts professional, specialising in film. Member of Audit and Risk Committee.

Ms Ri Chakraborty

Independent member since 2019. Film producer for Spring Films and film evaluator for the Malta Film Commission. Chair of the People Committee and member of the Nominations Committee.

Professor Lady Rachel Cooper OBE

Co-opted member with a background in education, Joined the Council in 2018. Professor of Design Management and Policy, Lancaster University and manager of Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts. Member of Nominations, People and Remuneration Committees.

Ms Alex Ferguson

Independent member, who joined the Council in 2019. Professional accountant. Finance Director for a property services company, previously holding a variety of roles with Aviva plc. Chair of the Finance and Resources Committee and Chair of the Investment Sub-Committee.

Mr Mark Jeffries

Chair of Council. Independent member who joined Council in 2016. Non-practising solicitor and former national managing and senior partner at Mills and Reeve, solicitors.  In addition to Council, is a member of the Nominations Committee and the Finance and Resources and Remuneration Committees.

Mr Colin Lawrence

Independent member who joined the Council in October 2021. Chief Executive of MediCinema. Previously held senior positions with the National Theatre and the BBC. Chair of the Remuneration Committee.
