Lisa Taylor, BA Illustration, Highly Commended in Macmillan Prize for Children’s Picture Book Illustration Competition 2021

Lisa, a third year BA (Hons) Illustration student, has been Highly Commended for her children’s book ‘So He Flew’.

The Macmillan Prize for Children’s Picture Book Illustration competition runs annually, and invites creative students to submit artwork for either an original story or fairy tale.

Lisa’s book, which she wrote and illustrated, focuses on teaching children how to cope and understand grief when losing a loved one.

The story follows a friendship between a gull and a cat and what happens after that friendship sadly comes to an end.
