MA Fine Art student selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2019
MA Fine Art student Liam Ashley Clark has been selected for the Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2019 exhibition.
New Contemporaries supports emergent art practice from the UK’s established and alternative art programmes. This year forty five artists have been chosen from open submissions for the prestigious annual touring exhibition, which includes one-to-one and peer mentoring sessions offered to all selected artists.
Liam Ashley Clark is currently studying MA Fine Art after completing his BA (Hons) Fine Art at Norwich University of the Arts in 2012. Liam’s work takes influence from the DIY cultures and creators of skateboarding, punk, hip-hop and folk scenes, and is inspired by a wide spectrum of interests including politics, society, psychology, current events, youth culture and more. Previous New Contemporaries alumni include David Hockney, Damien Hirst, Antony Gormley, Anish Kapoor and Grayson Perry, amongst others.
The exhibition will launch at Leeds Art Gallery from 14 September – 17 November 2019, before moving on to South London Gallery from 6 December 2019 – 23 February 2020.
“New Contemporaries is by far the most prestigious exhibition I have ever submitted to. I heard about it through a session on competitions and submissions at NUA.”
