Drawing Club 2023
Wednesday 15 March to Wednesday 10 May
Join BA (Hons) Animation and BA (Hons) Animation and Visual Effects Course Leader, Jon Dunleavy, for a free online draw-a-long running weekly online via Zoom.
These sessions are free to attend and suitable for those aged 16+.
Jon will be joined by a range of special guests, including:
Dan Kelby
Dan is a Character Designer whose past clients include Netflix, Cartoon Network and Disney. Dan is a Norwich graduate and is a Lecturer on BA (Hons) Animation.
Jamie Williams
Jamie Williams is a visual development artist and background painter. He has worked on various projects for the Japanese animation industry and as well as studying under industry veteran Yoshikatsu Matsumoto.
Jamie is also a graduate from our BA (Hons) Animation course at Norwich.
Odette Steele
Odette Steele is a Textile Designer and Artist with a specialism in Embroidery / Embellishment, Print Design and has gained valuable experience in other forms of Fashion and Textile design techniques.
Her influences derive from her African heritage through the dynamic composition of pattern and colour.
Odette is a Senior Lecturer on our BA (Hons) Textile Design course.
Kaliegh Branham
Kaliegh Branham is a Concept Artist and Designer and also a Lecturer on the BA (Hons) Games Art and Design course at Norwich University of the Arts.
Kyle T Webster
Kyle T Webster is an international award-winning illustrator who has drawn for The New Yorker, TIME, The NEw York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, Entertainment Weekly, Scholastic, ADOBE, Nike, IDEO and many more clients.
His illustration work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, Communications Arts, and American Illustration.
Tomm Moore
Tomm Moore is an Academy Award® Nominated Director, filmmaker, animator, illustrator and comic artist.
Tomm has directed 3 universally successful feature films. All three were nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Award® The Secret of Kells in 2010 and the spiritual follow-up, Song of the Sea in 2015.
His latest feature film “WolfWalkers” which he co-directed with Ross Stewart received several prominent critics awards including LAFCA Award and NYFCC Award as well as nominations for a Golden Globe and a Bafta and wins in several categories including Best Director and Best Independent Feature at the 2021 Annie Awards.
He is currently working as a producer across several of Cartoon Saloon’s new film and series projects as well as refocusing on his personal art training.
During this extra special Drawing Club you’ll have an opportunity to hear about Tomm’s love of drawing, his practice and to take part in a relaxed and informal drawing session alongside Tomm who will be working digitally.
