Your Course

Course Change

Your visa is linked to your specific course at Norwich University of the Arts. If you want to change course, you need to check that this change is allowed with your Student visa by contacting the Student Visa Compliance team at visa@norwichuni.ac.uk

If your course change is possible, and involves a change in the length of your Student visa, you may require an additional, successful immigration application to complete your course or your current visa may be cancelled before its current end date. If you have previously studied in the UK on a Student visa, please be aware that this may impact your ability to change courses.

Progress on your course

You will need to meet the University’s requirements regarding progression on your course.

If you do not pass a required assessment on your course, the University will need to check that any reassessment is permitted on your Student visa. For example, there are time limits on the number of years of study at undergraduate degree level that you can undertake on a Student visa.

Please contact visa@norwichuni.ac.uk  if you have questions about how reassessment or academic failure may impact your Student visa.

I would like to withdraw from my course

If you are considering withdrawing from your course, you should first read the information available on the following webpage:

If you have any questions about the impact of withdrawing from your course on your Student visa, or if you are unsure if withdrawal is the best option due to visa concerns, a member of the Student Visa Compliance team would be happy to meet with you and discuss this further.

Please contact us at visa@norwichuni.ac.uk if you would like to discuss withdrawing from your course. Once you have read the information above, if you would like to progress with the withdrawal you will need to complete the withdrawal form available on the above page and meet with your Course Leader, who will also need to sign the form.

Once the withdrawal form is received, we will notify the UKVI that we have withdrawn your Student visa sponsorship. UKVI will then cancel your visa. They will contact you with a new expiry date, by which time you must leave the UK to avoid overstaying. We advise that you leave the UK as soon as possible and do not wait until you receive your visa cancellation letter, to help protect your immigration status. If you are outside the UK when withdrawal occurs, you will likely not be able to enter the UK using your Student visa.

We will ask you to provide the following information for our records and to report the withdrawal of your sponsorship to the UKVI:

Can I study part-time?

Norwich University of the Arts does not currently accept applications to part-time courses from students requiring a Student visa.
