I have a BA in Media Production and have worked in the arts sector my entire career. After graduating I worked as a gallery technician at Wingfield Arts working alongside Ian Chance staging a variety of shows including Arts Council Touring exhibitions, Cadaqes Mini Print International and Anthony Penrose’s collection of Picasso ceramics gifted to the Penrose/Miller family by Picasso himself.
I joined the University in 2005 managing and operating our teaching spaces, became Workshop Manager Design in 2011, became Associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy and in 2022 was appointed as Technical Services Manager heading up the whole Technical Services team.
I am passionate about the part technical staff and resources play in HE and am committed to highlighting the impact that technicians have in the student experience. My team are partners in our students’ creative journey at Norwich, they are catalysts for experimentation, discovery, technical learning, research and knowledge exchange and they help our students develop as practitioners enabling them to discover their own journey through making and creating.
