Over the past ten years, Norwich University of the Arts has successfully delivered on its mission and is now poised for the future, with the delivery of an ambitious new Strategy. We have a strong portfolio of courses, a remarkable city campus at the heart of the creative quarter of Norwich, and an authentic and caring creative community of staff and students.

University Strategy 2022-2027

Our 2022–2027 strategy defines our vision to become a leading institution where the future of creativity and creative arts education is passionately debated. It focuses on well-being, global perspectives, innovation, and industry connections, empowering individuals while enhancing the creative sector locally and globally through transformative education and practice.

Enabling strategies

To deliver the University strategy, a number of strategies and action plans have been produced.

Creative Learning Strategy

Creative learning is central to who we are. This strategy sets out our approach to teaching and learning at Norwich – one that values experimentation, collaboration, and critical thinking. It guides how we shape and celebrate our distinctive approach, supporting excellence and building an inclusive learning community.

People Strategy

We are a community of highly talented individuals working together — and with our students — to shape the world around us. This strategy is focused on building a positive culture and connected community, enabling colleagues to thrive in their roles, and shaping the University’s future together.

Research and Knowledge Exchange Strategy

Research and Knowledge Exchange are integral to our purpose as a creative university. This strategy outlines our approach to building an ambitious and inclusive research culture – one that values collaboration and impact. It guides how we generate new knowledge and connect creative practice with broader communities and global challenges.

Student Support Strategy

Student support is central to the student experience at Norwich. This strategy sets out our commitment to building a visible, accessible and integrated service — guided by the themes of wellbeing, intervention and integration — to provide a joined-up, responsive approach from the moment students consider joining to graduation.
