Chloe Burbridge
Chloe provides technical support in pattern cutting and garment construction across all year groups, as well as maintaining the studio equipment in the evenings and weekend. She primarily works one to one with students across all year groups within fashion and other disciplines within the university.
I originally studied costume design with textiles at the University of Huddersfield graduating in 2017. My passion for creating costumes has led me to make costumes for myself and as part of my freelance work.
I have experience working with unconventional materials such as thermoplastics, glass and EVA foam as well as drafting historical patterns, structural garments and creating costume props. I am particularly interested in finding out how garments were constructed and how we can apply this in modern pattern cutting techniques.
Since graduating I have been working freelance with individual clients, creating bespoke pieces or altering existing garments to create something new. I have been able to work with a wide range of fabrics and the challenges some of them bring. I also greatly enjoy hand embroidery and include it where I can in my work and personal projects. Since joining Norwich University of the Arts in 2022 I have enjoyed working with the students and helping them to bring their ideas to life.
