Dr Lucy Troup
Course Leader
Psychology
I am the course leader for the undergraduate psychology program at Norwich University of the Arts. As well as the day to day management of the degree I teach with a focus on mental health and addiction. I have an active research program and collaborate across several disciplines. I currently supervise two PhD students and actively encourage students at all stages of their degree to get involved in research.
I am a Clinical Cognitive Neuroscientist whose research covers several key areas in psychology, including the relationship between endogenous and exogenous factors in understanding the human condition. My current research explores how cannabis use affects brain function, behaviour, and emotion processing, including disorders like depression and PTSD. I collaborate with partners in the UK and PsyUSA. I also advise policymakers and the cannabis industry, and my research is widely published and featured in the media. I also have several cross discipline research collaborations with computer science (AI and face recognition; Human Computer Interaction) and environmental psychology (Soundscapes and Environmental Psychology). I am a chartered psychologist and associate fellow of the British Psychological Society and I sit on the board of trustees for the Society for the Study of Addiction.
