Computer Arts and Technology
Jack Allen is a Lecturer for Games Art and Design at Norwich University of the Arts.He is a multi-disciplinary artist with industry experience in both 2D and 3D mediums, working as a 2D asset and concept artist as well as a 3D generalist on a variety of projects. Often being involved from an early stage of development, collaborating to establish the visuals and their implementation. This more holistic understanding of the games art process has been a strong foundation for branching out into education and working with a course that covers a range of skill sets.
My background and current practice are rooted in industry experience, initially having a 2D/Concept focus but with a passion for games in their entirety have steadily expanded my skillset to include 3D and Engine related knowledge.
My approach to teaching has been guided by my enthusiasm for the medium and experience as an industry practitioner. Now seated in a place where I can share the knowledge that’s proven useful to me and continue to better my understanding of the practice through those seeing it with fresh eyes.
