Jeremy Smeeth
Jeremy Smeeth is the Chief Operating Officer for Norwich University of the Arts.
His role is to provide strategic and operational leadership for the University’s finances, human resources, physical estate, facilities, and IT infrastructure. He supports the Vice-Chancellor in the management and effective operation of the University and drives operational performance across the institution.
Jeremy trained as a chartered accountant with KPMG and began working in arts management in 1997. From 2016 to 2022 he was Chief Operating Officer at Mountview, one of the UK’s leading drama schools. He played a key role in the major capital project to build entirely new premises for the school and move its operations across London to the new site.
Prior to this he was Finance Director at Southbank Centre and Director of Finance and Administration at National Theatre of Scotland.
He has previously undertaken a range of finance roles in performing arts organisations such as Chickenshed, Shared Experience, and Artsadmin.
He was Chair of the Independent Theatre Council from 2007 to 2011 and is current Chair of the Board of Trustees of Artsadmin.
