I have been working on the web as a designer/developer since 2009. My portfolio includes work for well-known local organisations and international brands. I concern myself with the interplay between UX design and front-end development, considering how creative decisions can be informed by the constraints and possibilities of coding for the browser with web standards, usability and accessibility in mind. As part of my support role, I help students negotiate this blurred boundary between specialisms.

Prior to my digital work, I was a much more analogue English Language Teacher living in Tokyo, before returning to study for an MA in Philosophy and Literature at UEA.

I have an active interest in electronic literature and how creative writing can adapt to the web. My recent work includes the short interactive fiction piece ‘Now Here’, a segment of which was performed live at Leeds Libraries in 2022, and an ongoing speculative fiction project told through an interactive map of Norwich, developed during two courses at the National Centre for Writing. I am interested in how specific locations can relate to ideas, thoughts and feelings, creating the experience of physical/digital orientation (and disorientation) as part of the user/reader journey.
