Clearing FAQs
What is Clearing?
Clearing is part of the application cycle for universities. It’s an opportunity for students to apply for undergraduate courses that still have spaces available to start in September.
Who can use Clearing?
You can use clearing if you:
- Are applying after 30 June
- Didn’t receive any offers
- Declined all your offers
- Didn’t get the grades needed for a conditional offer when you received your results
- Got the grades you needed but have changed your mind about where you want to study
How will I know if I’m in Clearing?
When you log in to UCAS, it will say: ‘You are in Clearing. Your Clearing number is…’.
This might be because you didn’t get any offers or because you didn’t get the grades you needed for your firm or insurance choice.
How do I accept my Clearing offer?
Once you’ve been made your offer through Clearing, you will need to follow the instructions in the offer email to accept.
You should also update your student finance application online, to reflect any changes in your university choices. You may be entitled to additional funding, depending on where you are now going to university.
If you haven’t started a student finance application, you can start one now. You don’t need to wait until you have a place to apply.
I’ve changed my mind and want to come to Norwich University of the Arts. How can I release myself from my firm or insurance choice?
You can decline your firm or insurance yourself, you don’t need to contact the university directly. Just log in to UCAS and click on the ‘Decline my place’ button. Then select your reason for wanting to be released.
Which courses are in Clearing at Norwich University of the Arts?
Not all of our undergraduate courses are open during Clearing, so it’s important to check that the course you want to apply for is still accepting applications.
