Travel bursary

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get the real Norwich experience. So, if you’re travelling 50 miles or more for an open day, we’ll pay a chunk of your travel costs, so you get to enjoy your journey to see us that little bit more.

The travel bursary amount depends on the distance travelled to the University and is calculated by Norwich University of the Arts. The amount awarded will be based on the shortest route from your registered home postcode to our city campus (postcode NR3 3FF).

How to claim

We’ll email you after the event with details of how to claim your travel grant. You will be asked to supply proof of address. Money will be paid via secure electronic payment. Please be aware that no money will be paid on the day you visit.

Terms and Conditions

Claim

• You can apply if you have attended one of the Open Days from the 13th October 2023 onwards. You can only claim for a travel bursary once.
• The amount awarded will be based on the shortest route from the registered home postcode on your booking form to our city campus (postcode NR3 3FF)

• To claim you must complete the Travel Reimbursement Form which will be sent out after the event you have attended.
• The travel bursary is only available for your journey to one of the specified events, travelling directly to and from our City Campus.
• Payment is made to the prospective student only. Guests are not eligible to claim the travel reimbursement.
• You may need to provide ID and proof of address with their travel form. Acceptable forms of ID include a bank card, student card, driving licence or passport.
• The claim will only be processed once attendance to the event  has been verified by a member of our events team.
• Accommodation, refreshments and parking cannot be claimed for.
• You will need a UK bank account to receive a travel bursary payment. You must enter your own bank details onto the form. If the bank details do not match the attendee’s name on the form, the payment cannot be processed.
• Claims can be submitted up to two weeks after the event has passed. Any claims submitted after this date will not be processed.
• Payment will then be made within one month.
• Accepting a travel bursary does not commit you to accept Norwich University of the Arts as your Firm or Insurance choice. Neither does it guarantee that we will be able to offer you a study place if we have not already done so.

Eligibility

To receive the travel reimbursement:

• You must pre-register for an event
• You must attend one of the identified eligible events at Norwich University of the Arts, for which you have registered.
• You must have checked in on the day with a member of the events team.
• You must have travelled 50 miles or more from your home address (one way) registered on our booking system.
• Distances will be calculated using the RAC Route Planner and will be based on the shortest route by car from the registered home postcode on your booking form to our Duke Street Riverside Building NR3 3FF
• You must live within the United Kingdom

The following groups are not eligible:

• Current Norwich University of the Arts students
• Those attending any other type of visit/event (e.g. School/college visit)
• Those who have not travelled 50 miles or more (one way) from their home address to Norwich University of the Arts

Every effort has been made to ensure that all details about the Travel Bursary are correct at the time of writing. Norwich University of the Arts has the right to withdraw or amend the Travel Bursary at any time.

The University will not be deemed to be in breach of any Terms and Conditions due to changes to eligibility criteria, or other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the University. These conditions are regularly reviewed and are subject to change. The University’s decision in relation to the payment of the Travel Bursary is final.
