Scholarship and Award Terms & Conditions 2026/27
1. The Scholarships and Awards
The scholarship or award given is:
- granted at the sole discretion of the University, with the right to not offer it;
- applied as a reduction to the tuition fees. No cash alternatives are available and it cannot be used against maintenance costs;
- offered based on information in your application. If details change or are found to be untrue, the scholarship may be withdrawn;
- not deferrable to another entry year or transferable to another University; and
- not combinable with other international scholarships, awards and discounts offered by the University, unless otherwise stated. If shortlisted for two or more, you will be offered the higher value award only, with other offers automatically withdrawn. More information about this can be found in the No Stacking Policy here:https://norwichuni.ac.uk/international-students/fees-finance-scholarships.
An email from the International Admissions Team will confirm the value and this document confirms the terms and conditions to be met before successfully receiving the scholarship.
2. Changes to these Terms and Conditions
The University reserves the right to amend the terms and amount of the scholarship without prior notice. If you have been awarded the scholarship, you will continue to receive the amount on the terms stated at confirmation.
3. Eligibility for the scholarship
All scholarship and award recipients must:
- not qualify for home fee status;
- hold a valid conditional or unconditional offer of study for a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate-taught course; and
- accept any scholarship or award by the relevant deadline outlined in section 4 of these terms and conditions.
4. Accepting your scholarship offer
Undergraduate applicants who accept their offer of study will automatically have accepted their scholarship offer. The deadlines to accept are as follows:
- UCAS applicants must accept their offer of study by the response deadline noted in their UCAS Hub. More details on this can be found here: https://www.ucas.com/applying/after-you-apply/types-of-undergraduate-offers/replying-to-your-offers
- Direct undergraduate applicants who are issued with their offer on or before 20 May 2026 must accept their offer of study by 3 June 2026. Those who receive their offer on or after 20 May 2026 must accept their offer within 14 days of offer issuance.
Postgraduate applicants must pay the £3,000 international deposit within a set deadline to secure their scholarship. The International Deposit Policy can be found here: https://norwichuni.ac.uk/international-students/fees-finance-scholarships/
To secure their scholarship, postgraduate applicants must pay the international deposit:
- Within 30 days of your initial offer being issued if offer issuance is before 12 June 2026 (whether this is a conditional or unconditional offer)
- Within 14 days of your initial offer being issued if offer issuance is on or after 12 June 2026 (whether this is a conditional or unconditional offer)
Postgraduate applicants obtaining US Federal Aid loans for their studies are exempt from paying the international deposit and can instead secure their scholarship by submitting their FAFSA to the University via www.studentaid.gov by the following deadlines:
- By 28 February 2026 if your offer is issued before this date
- By the deadlines for other postgraduate applicants outlined above if your offer is issued after 28 February 2026
The acceptance processes and deadlines outlined in this section are related to the international scholarships and awards allocated automatically only. Separate processes and deadlines apply to the Vice-Chancellor’s Undergraduate Scholarship, Vice-Chancellor’s Postgraduate Scholarship, GREAT British China & India Scholarships and Heathfield Accommodation Scholarship. The acceptance processes and deadlines will be outlined in the offer email for these scholarships.
5. Your Obligations
All scholarship and award recipients must:
- accept the scholarship and its terms by the deadlines outlined above;
- comply at all times with all the terms and conditions you have agreed to;
- meet all conditions of your offer (if issued with a conditional offer);
- obtain a CAS and meet UKVI requirements (where required for study);
- enrol on your course by the start date; and
- represent the University by attending events, providing testimonials, and supporting our marketing and outreach for up to 2 years after you have graduated.
6. Withdrawal and Repayment
If the University believes you do not meet, continue to meet, or give evidence you have met the eligibility criteria, your scholarship may be withdrawn by written notice. You may be required to repay all or part of your scholarship if:
- you have misrepresented your entitlement; or
- breached obligations agreed to in terms and conditions; or
- terminated your Student Contract within 3 months of enrolment.
