Norwich University celebrates emerging young talent as winners of two prestigious art competitions are announced

Norwich University of the Arts has announced the winners of two major competitions, celebrating emerging creative talent from across the Norfolk region and beyond.

Winners from both competitions, Beyond the Frame and the Norfolk Art and Design Competition, were announced in ceremonies on the University’s campus, with winning and shortlisted work on display in dedicated city-centre exhibitions.

Beyond the Frame

Beyond the Frame is an international photography competition open to students age 11 to 19. The competition, which launched in 2017, received nearly 700 submissions this year from young photographers in the UK and around the world.

Professional photographers Ellie Rothnie and David Vintiner joined BA (Hons) Photography Course Leader James Smith on the judging panel.

Winners were announced across two age categories and three theme categories: People, Places, and Things.

This year’s winning entries were:

11-15 Age Category

Harry Clogger, Langley School

16-19 Age Category

Elijah Fenn, Colchester Institute

‘People’ Category

Norfolk Art and Design Competition

The Norfolk Art and Design Competition showcases talent from sixth forms and colleges across Norfolk and beyond, encouraging young people to develop their creative voices.

Two prizes were awarded at this year’s ceremony, one for the best submission from Norfolk and one for the best submission from the UK.

This year’s winning entries were:

1st Prize Winner – Norfolk

Bibi Campbell, Paston College
