Whatever type of course you study with us, finance will always be an important factor.

Postgraduate tuition fees

Tuition fees cover the cost of teaching, assessments, and access to facilities like the library, IT equipment, and student support services. Our tuition fees do not cover general study costs for books, stationery, personal IT equipment, field trips and craft materials. Fees are reviewed annually and are likely increase in line with inflation. The level of tuition fee will depend upon whether you’re classed as either a UK or International student. Your fee status will be assessed during your application and confirmed upon receiving an offer.

Campus based students are charged tuition fees on an annual basis for when you are a registered student. Your tuition fee is not a set course. Therefore, if you require additional time to complete or re-sit your modules in another academic year, additional tuition fees are charged. This will be pro rata, based on the annual fee for the next year’s tuition fee and for the additional time that you are registered to complete your modules/course.

Fee status

Norwich University of the Arts will assess students’ tuition fee status using the guidance provided by the UK Council for International Student Affairs Students from the UK or Ireland and EU students with ‘Settled’ or ‘Pre-Settled’ status will be charged ‘Home’ fees if they meet the relevant residency requirements.  They will usually be eligible for a tuition fee loan from the UK government, meaning that they won’t have to pay Norwich University of the Arts’ tuition fees upfront.

Students who do not meet the necessary residency requirements will usually be charged ‘Overseas’ fees and will not be eligible for the UK government tuition fee loan. Since 2021/22, this includes new entrants from the EU, EEA, and Switzerland who do not have ‘Settled’ or ‘Pre-Settled’ status, because the UK has now formally left the EU.

The postgraduate loan

For courses starting in 2024/2025, postgraduate students can apply for a government loan of up to £12,471 towards course fees or living costs.

Am I eligible for a postgraduate loan for 2025 entry?

The postgraduate loan is paid in three instalments over the duration of your study. You’ll repay the loan when you’ve finished your course and earn over the income threshold. If you have an existing undergraduate loan you can still apply for a postgraduate loan, but both will need to be repaid. They are treated as separate loans, so depending on your earnings you may have to repay both at the same time.

How do I repay my loan?

You will start to repay your loan when earning over £21,000, paying back 6% on earnings over £21,000. You only start to repay your loan in the April after you have left your course at the earliest, but you can make voluntary early repayments. The loan will be charged at an interest rate of RPI plus 3% and interest will start to accrue as soon as the loan is taken out. The loan will be written off after 30 years.
