In conversation with: Joe Coleman, BA (Hons) Photography graduate
After graduating from BA (Hons) Photography at Norwich University of the Arts, Joe Coleman has gone on to become a 3D Motion Designer at creative agency Seventeen.
-
Hi Joe, can you tell us a bit about yourself and your creative practice?
My name is Joe Coleman and I’m a 3D Motion Designer at a creative agency called Seventeen.
On the BA Photography course at Norwich, I specialised in commercial, still life photography, but I was mostly interested in the technical side.
When I started hearing about the 3D motion design industry, I started researching and found myself instantly hooked and fascinated about the possibilities you can create.
-
How did your degree at Norwich prepare you for what you do now?
The facilities at Norwich are great. I always made sure to get the most out of them while I was studying. Every studio shoot just made me that little more prepared for working in the industry.
-
Do you have any advice for anyone considering a photography degree?
Over the two years I’ve been in the creative industry, it has already changed loads.
My advice would be to find the area of photography that you enjoy the most and keep trying to push past your limits and challenge yourself.
“Every studio shoot just made me that little more prepared for working in the industry.”
