Photography Studio

Equipped with a range of professional studio equipment from tabletop still life work to full-length model photography, the studio includes a full blackout studio with flexible options for configuring the layout to suit the varied requirement of individual and taught study.

Our Photography Studios are located in the East Garth — one of Norwich’s most valuable pieces of heritage — a former medieval Friary considered as one of the best surviving and most complete examples of its kind in the country.

Professional DSLR camera kits with specialist lenses; medium format digital camera kits and a full range of professional studio lighting, camera supports and accessories are provided for use in the studio.

The Photography resources are situated in the renovated East Garth building.

The first floor features the Photography Studio (EG5/6), with a ‘still life area’ for smaller sets, and a ‘Fashion/Portraiture’ area for larger shoots.

The ground floor workshop (EG3) includes the Digital Darkroom for RAW file processing and digital image editing, with colour calibrated monitors, scanners, and inkjet printers for printing photographic prints for exhibition and portfolio.

Both of the Photography Workshops and Digital Darkroom are open to students who have had the appropriate induction onto the areas.

Find all of the Photography Workshop induction and support materials on the VLE.
