Beyond the Frame is an international photography competition open to students in Secondary or Further Education (ages 11-19). This is the competition’s eighth year, and saw an incredible level of participation, with around 400 photographers submitting their work.

Judges Elisa Iannacone, Richard Seymour and James Smith, BA (Hons) Photography Course Leader, were blown away by the quality and variety of the entries; they were hard pushed to select just four winners. All shortlisted candidates and their work can be seen on the Beyond the Frame website.

Both age group winners were awarded an EOS R50 camera with RF-S 18-45mm lens, courtesy of event sponsor Canon. ‘Responsible Production and Consumption’ and ‘Gender Equality’ category winners each received a prize selected by the competition judges.

Winners were announced at a ceremony held at Norwich University of the Arts’ Duke Street Riverside building. Judges Elisa Iannacone and Richard Seymour introduced some of their work and practice, before they were joined by James Smith and Norwich Alumni Cat Gundry-Beck for a industry-focused panel discussion.
