Attention aspiring photographers
Join us for a nature-themed photography workshop
We’re excited to offer students the opportunity to take part in a FREE photography workshop led by internationally acclaimed wildlife photographer Ellie Rothnie, alongside Canon representatives.
If you’re thinking about entering the competition, this workshop is a great chance to explore the brief in more depth. We’ll explore explore creative ideas and tips for best practice with the support of the Beyond the Frame team.
There’s no need for formal photography training – just a passion for capturing the world through a lens!
Expected schedule
- 10:00 – Presentation by Ellie Rothnie
- 11:00 – Fundamentals of Photography & understanding the creative brief
- 12:00 – Lunch Break
- 13:00 – Nature and Wildlife Photography Session using Canon R50 Cameras
- 15:00 – Image Review & Critique with Ellie
- 16:00 – Finish

Location
About Ellie Rothnie

An internationally acclaimed wildlife photographer, and tour leader, speaker and Canon Ambassador, Ellie has an enduring love of bird and animal portraiture.
Focussing on species in her native UK, as well as Europe, East Africa, Japan and North/Central America, Ellie’s use of natural light, backgrounds and foregrounds creates elegant and timeless images. One of her ongoing projects is with the charismatic Dalmatian pelican of Lake Kerkini, photographing the conservation successes and challenges of a fragile bird species.
