Week 3: Mastering the Basics of Architectural Drawing

Workshop description
This workshop will cover essential drawing skills for architects, starting with the basics, such as drawing accurate lines and establishing line hierarchy.
We’ll also explore the various types of 2D and 3D drawings architects create, along with the methods used to produce them. But remember these ‘rules’ are there to be broken once learned!

Meet your workshop host
Cian McCahill is currently a Building Information Modelling (BIM) Technician at Clearwater Engineering Consultants. Cian studied BA (Hons) Architecture at Norwich University of the Arts and graduated in 2024.
What materials do I need?
- Paper
- Range of pencils
- Colouring pencils/pens/markers
- Fine-liner pen
We aim for the required workshop materials to be accessible to all, with consideration given to those who wish to join digitally or with practical materials.
