Presented alongside the Make Books Not War exhibition at East Gallery
In this guided workshop by GRRR (aka Glen Robinson and Rebecca Robinson) you will learn how to construct and sew your own zine from new and existing (recycled) materials. You will explore a method for creating exciting visual interactions, which you can use to create new design ideas and visual storytelling for your own projects.
Image materials from GRRR’s archive of things will be available for you to photocopy and collage as part of your creative process. We also encourage you to bring your own papers, ephemera that you might want to use in your zine.
There will be access to an A4 black and white photocopier, and all equipment will be provided.
After the workshop you will have a completed zine which has a mix of materials including neon and coloured papers, and you will have experimented with a design process for creating playful compositions and grungy/maximalist looking graphics.
