Five students shortlisted for Graduate Fashion Week Awards 2022

Graduate Fashion Week is the world’s largest showcase of undergraduate fashion talent.

Five students across BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion and BA (Hons) Fashion are shortlisted for six separate awards.

BA Fashion Communication and Promotion

Joe Corlito, whose work is pictured above, is shortlisted for two awards: the Creative Direction and Styling Award, and Fashion Photography Award. Joe focused his project on an advertising campaign marrying streetwear brand Stussy, with car manufacturer Volkswagen.

Fellow students Megan Doye and Jodie Moss are shortlisted for the Fashion Communication Portfolio Award, and the New Fashion Media Award, respectively.

The Fashion Communication Portfolio Award showcases the best portfolios of the year. Judges expect portfolios to show photography, styling, new media, marketing, social media and PR.

Megan’s project explores fashion rental brand By Rotation. She created a concept ‘One Time with By Rotation’, focused on graduating students, encouraging them to make sustainable fashion choices.

Jodie Moss

Jodie’s project explores how communities can be improved through authentic digital connection. She focused this on the eco-centred fashion brand Nanushka and created a digital strategy focused on sustainability.

BA Fashion

Third-year student Mia Scott is shortlisted for the Accessories Award. Entrants are challenged to visualise a modern approach to the accessories area and can submit bags, shoes, belts and millinery.

Mia’s accessory project ‘Unearthed’ explores steel accessories inspired by root forms and mycelium, bridging the gap between sculpture and fashion.

Finally, Katrin Dimitrova, shortlisted for the Childrenswear Award, centred her final collection around childhood memories. Katrin explores the comfort of being a child to inform her design choices, such as a wooden crib and braided hair.

Final judging for the awards is scheduled from Monday 20 June at Coal Drops Yard in London.
