Questions to consider

When choosing a programme, you might want to ask yourself:

• What units will I study, and how do they align with my interests and career goals?
• How will this programme support my personal growth and professional development?
• What career paths have graduates from this course pursued?

Pay close attention to the entry requirements for each programme. Most require an undergraduate honours degree in a relevant discipline, and some may also ask for relevant work experience.

All applicants must meet a minimum standard of English language ability. Some programmes may have higher requirements depending on the nature of the course.

Embarking on a postgraduate programme is a rewarding journey, but it’s important to plan your finances carefully. Tuition fees, living costs, and materials are key considerations. Visit our funding page to explore the financial support options available, including scholarships, bursaries, and government funding schemes.

Applications to postgraduate courses should be made directly to Norwich University of the Arts by completing an application form.

We will aim to contact you within two weeks of receiving both your application and a reference from your nominated referee.

Detach the reference form from the application form and forward it to your chosen referee, with a request to complete and return it to the University at the address indicated.

There’s no formal deadline for applying for postgraduate study but we recommend you submit your application by 25 August in the year you wish to start. This will allow time for the necessary paperwork to be processed if you are offered a place.

International students requiring a visa are advised to apply as soon as possible in the year they wish to start. For further advice please contact international@norwichuni.ac.uk

We will send you an email to confirm that you’ve received your application. It’s worth adding our email address to your list of approved contacts so that you don’t miss any communication from us.

We’ll make sure your form is fully completed and that you meet the entry requirements for your chosen course. If we need any further information to process your application, such as copies of your passport or qualifications, we’ll email you to let you know.

As many of our programmes are professionally based, we will review your qualifications and work experience in order to determine your suitability.

Once we’ve received all the necessary information, we’ll make a decision on your application.

We will either:

• Reject your application. If your application isn’t suitable, we’ll contact you to advise you of this. In some cases, we can also provide additional feedback but we can’t always guarantee this.
• Ask you to attend an interview. We’ll send you an email with more information about your interview, but where possible course teams will contact you via email or phone to discuss your information.
• Send you a conditional offer. This offer is made if you’re currently completing your qualifications. We will send you an offer letter which will list the conditions of your offer.
• Send you an unconditional offer. This offer is made if you’ve met all the entry requirements. We will send you an offer letter to confirm this.

If we have made you an offer, congratulations! You’ll need to respond to us to confirm that you wish to accept this offer.

If your offer has conditions attached, you’ll also need to ensure you meet these before the start of the course. For example, if you are waiting to complete qualifications, you’ll need to scan and email us a copy of your certificates once you’ve received them.

Shortly before the start of your course you will receive further instructions from us, including how to pay, how to register as a student, and anything extra you may need to do before you get started.

The information that you receive from the University will include our contact details, which you can use if you have any queries.

If you need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number to apply for a study visa, you will have to pay a deposit to be able to request your CAS number.

If you’re an international student, we’ll ask you to pay £3,000 of your tuition fees in advance as a deposit. The deposit scheme applies to most of our full-time postgraduate courses.

• Your deposit needs to be paid after you accept your offer. Your offer letter will tell you when the deposit needs to be paid and provides full terms and conditions.
• If you need more time to pay your deposit, please contact us via your application portal. We may be able to extend your deposit deadline.
• Unfortunately, if you fail to pay the deposit by the deadline, and don’t ask us for a deposit deadline extension, your offer may be withdrawn.

If you are being fully funded, please send us confirmation of the funding via your application portal and we will be able to waive the deposit condition.
