No Stacking Policy

Purpose

This policy ensures fairness and consistency in the allocation of Norwich University of the Arts’ international scholarships, awards, and discounts, by preventing multiple awards being applied to the same student.

General principle

Unless otherwise stated, international scholarships, awards, and discounts at the University cannot be combined (“no stacking”). Students will receive only the single highest-value award for which they are eligible.

Eligible awards

This policy applies to all international scholarships and awards offered by the University, including but not limited to:

• Vice-Chancellor’s Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarships
• International Undergraduate and Postgraduate Awards
• Regional Awards (e.g. India, China and Hong Kong, USA, Singapore, EU/EEA, In-UK)
• British Council GREAT Scholarship
• Heathfield Postgraduate Bursary
• British National (Overseas) Fee Discount
• International Alumni Discount
• Partnership Discounts

Exceptions

Certain awards are designed to be combinable with other scholarships due to their specific nature or funding source. These include:

• International Postgraduate Early Payment Discount
• China Partnership Discount

The University reserves the right to update or amend the list of stackable awards at any time.

Award determination

If a student qualifies for more than one award:

• The University will automatically apply the highest-value scholarship or award for which the student is eligible.
• If one award has non-monetary value (e.g. an accommodation bursary), the University will determine equivalency at its discretion.

Institutional partnerships and external funding

Students in receipt of funding from an external body, or through a formal partnership agreement, will be subject to any specific conditions of that funding. However, these may not normally be combined with other scholarships and awards unless explicitly approved by the University.

Changes and exceptions

The University reserves the right to vary, withdraw, or amend any scholarship or award at any time without notice, including changes to the stacking policy.
