Norwich graduate wins National Royal Television Society Award
BA (Hons) Animation graduate Jack Paterson has won a national Royal Television Society Award for his film ‘The Curse of Dracular’.

Jack has won in the Undergraduate Craft Skills: Production Design category at the RTS Student Television Awards 2024. This recognition means graduates from Norwich have won national RTS awards in successive years.
Royal Television Society Student Television awards celebrate the best audiovisual work created by students across the UK. Winners from regional competitions are selected to complete the shortlist for the nationwide awards, which took place at IET London, Savoy Place.
Jack’s film The Curse of Dracular takes a story originally written by his father when he was nine years old and reimagines it in stop motion animation. His father’s ‘terrifying’ horror story is illustrated and acted word for word, complete with Mr. Philips, played by ‘Peter Cushing’ and ‘Dracula Christopher Lee’.
Recognition from the Royal Television Society follows a collection of awards for Jack and The Curse of Dracular, including screenings at festivals such as Manchester Film Festival, and Best Stop Motion Award at Animation Dingle, an award sponsored by Aardman Animations.
