Norwich Secures CIM Accreditation for new Marketing Degree
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the world’s leading professional body for marketing, has awarded Accredited Degree status to Norwich University of the Arts’ newly launched BA (Hons) Marketing course.
This accreditation means that, in addition to graduating with a degree, students studying marketing at Norwich will be able to gain industry-recognised qualifications at an accelerated pace. The University has developed strong links with CIM, and the course content has been designed in alignment with CIM’s learning outcomes to ensure it meets the expectations and needs of the industry.
Students enrolled on the BA Marketing course will benefit from:
- Exemptions from CIM qualifications, reducing assessments from three modules to just one—valid for up to five years after graduation.
- Up to 66% reduction in time required to complete CIM qualifications.
- Access to the CIM Marketing Club, offering valuable resources, events, and networking opportunities.
Alex Hill, Associate Programme Director for Business Management, Marketing and Psychology, said:
“We’re incredibly proud that our marketing programme has been awarded Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Accredited Degree status. This recognition reflects the academic quality and real-world relevance of the course and gives students a clear route to a recognised professional qualification.
By aligning our teaching with the skills employers value most, we’re helping graduates stand out in a competitive job market—an important advantage for anyone starting a career in marketing.”
Maureen Wincott, Head of Learning Partnerships at CIM, said:
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with Norwich University of the Arts. Students who graduate with a relevant degree at an appropriate level are exempt from the modules Marketing Impact and Planning Integrated Campaigns in the new CIM Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing, under Accredited Prior Learning (APL). To achieve the full Level 4 Certificate, students need to complete either two 10-credit modules or the 20-credit Marketing in Action module.”
“Likewise, graduates are exempt from the Strategy and Planning module of the new CIM Diploma in Professional & Digital Marketing under APL. To obtain the full Level 6 Diploma, students must pass either Commercial Intelligence or Societal Impact, plus two additional 10-credit modules.”
“We look forward to continuing to work closely with Norwich to help students achieve their professional goals and gain valuable recognition from employers in the marketing and business sectors.”
