James Rix finalist in Rookie Awards 2024

BA (Hons) Animation graduate James Rix is a finalist in the Film of the Year, 2D Animation category.

The Rookie Awards recognises the best up and coming artists looking to make a name for themselves in the industry. Recognition from The Rookies is a seal of approval that can launch an artist’s career from student to professional.

James’ film Clubulon follows a man with a large dent in his head, attempting to navigate his work day at a wedding planning company. The film uses mixed-media approach, primarily animated in 2D but also takes advantage of 3D animation techniques for the backgrounds. A musician as well as animator, James also composed the soundtrack for Clubulon himself.
