Norwich University of the Arts recognised as a top creative arts university in the UK
Norwich University of the Arts has once again been recognised as one of the UK’s leading creative arts universities, in the Complete University Guide 2024. Norwich has achieved a ranking of 56, consolidating its position as one of the top two specialist creative arts institutions in the UK.
Notable league table highlights for the University include:
- Art and design rising 8 places to 35
- Architecture rising 13 places to 37
- Drama, dance and cinematics rising 6 places to 73
Over the last year, Norwich University of the Arts has made significant strides across many areas, marking it as a pivotal period for the institution. The university’s continued success reflects its unwavering commitment to nurturing talent and empowering students to thrive in their chosen fields.
- Norwich University of the Arts added its 12th building, 20 Bank Plain, to its city-centre campus. The Grade II listed building is currently in development as a potential exhibition, library, studio, and production space, ultimately providing spaces that will combine teaching, research, exhibition and collection and public access, and will become an important centre for both the University and the city.
- Norwich University of the Arts was awarded a grant of £1.5 million by the Office for Students (OfS) to support the University’s continuing development in creative computational technology, further building the community of graduates with advanced tech skills in the workforce and responding in an industry-relevant, agile way to the need to upskill and reskill mid-career learners, especially post-pandemic.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Simon Ofield-Kerr commented:
“I am delighted to see the continued hard work of everybody at Norwich recognised again in Complete University Guide rankings.
“Our position is testament to the exceptional work of our students and staff across our diverse range of courses, as well as our progress in implementing our strategy.
“I would like to congratulate everybody associated with the University for this latest, and well-deserved recognition.”
