Design Studio
The Design Studio & Student IT Helpdesk are situated on the first floor of the Guntons building. The area specialises in design for print, publication, graphics, and illustration. The space includes Mac Labs installed with Adobe Creative Cloud and other specialist software that supports a variety of digital design processes.
The Design Studio Team also operate our Student IT Helpdesk liaising with our IT Services Team to support students with account access and passwords.
The studios are made up of the Cutting Room (GU106), Finishing Room (GU111), Large Format Print Room (GU112a), as well as computer teaching rooms (GU102&108) and the Student IT Helpdesk (GU103).
The studios give our students access to a wide range of resources — including laser cutting, 3D printing, UV printing, wire binding, laminating, foiling, and large format printing — as well as providing a space for an extensive range of design activities where you will have on-hand support from a team of workshop technicians.

Basics of Creative Coding (Level 4)
Level 4 Basics of Creative Coding is a new online short course for anyone who is interested in developing creative programming skills, either as a way of getting a job in this area, or as a first step into higher education. It has been designed in collaboration with employers to ensure that it is industry focused. If you are looking for opportunities in the working world of software development and have either completed a Level 3 qualification or can show through your experience that you are ready to start the course, this course could be the right course for you. No previous experience of computer programming is necessary.
