Student blog: food home delivery in Norwich

We asked MA Moving Image and Sound student Valentina Huckova to share her best tips for food home delivery in Norwich- keep reading for her top recommendations on getting groceries and takeaways delivered to your door.

Groceries

Morrisons’ website makes it easy to shop for lifestyle preferences/requirements, such as their Milk Free, Gluten Free or Vegan filters to show you all relevant products. If you’re lost for choice, you can order from their range of specific boxes like ‘Vegetarian Essentials’ or ‘Big Night In’ box – just select the box you would like, place an order and they will deliver your food box straight to your door.

They do delivery passes instead of individual slots, so you can spend as little as £5 for a monthly pass, or buy an annual delivery pass from £35, and you’re guaranteed free delivery on online shops over £40.

Tesco delivers your order 7 days a week at a time that suits you and when slots are available in your area (this depends on demand).

But, if you spend under £40 have to pay an additional surcharge of £4, plus the delivery slots cost from £4.50. You should carefully pre-plan what you’re shopping for, or safely share the delivery with someone else.

Asda’s delivery slot requires a minimum order of £40 and delivery costs from £3 – £6.50. When your order is worth £25+, you can also Click & Collect at the Asda Superstore, but this might be too far!

Milk&More typically supply British farmers’ produce, but you can use their ‘Lifestyle’ sections to browse goods from Vegan to Gluten-Free, Organic and Plastic Alternative (thoughtful packaging avoiding plastic) to order special foods, snacks or drinks to be delivered regularly or as a one-off.

Home delivery meal kits

HelloFresh is a curated box of recipes with measured food, delivered to your doorstep so you can make food from scratch in the comfort of your kitchen. You’ll choose your recipes after checkout, and you can customise ingredients for allergies/dietary preferences.

Choose the number of people you’re cooking for (2+) and how many meals per week (if you’re cooking solo, divide the numbers and save meals for later). Try to order a week in advance, but you get free daytime delivery!

Called ‘UK’s healthy lockdown must’, Mindful Chef makes 16 of its rotating recipes available to choose from every week, from £6 per portion, in quantities for 1, 2 or 4 people.

Their meals include gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, flexitarian, vegetarian and pescatarian options. And also a variety of frozen meals (when you don’t feel like cooking). Free national shipping.
