Beyond the Frame photography competition 2021
Norwich University of the Arts’ Beyond the Frame competition is back and looking for the finest photography by students in Secondary (11+) or Further Education.
The Beyond the Frame competition was launched in 2017 to encourage young photographers to develop their craft and showcase their talent. In its debut year, the competition attracted more than 170 entries; by 2020 this rose to over 600 entries from around the world.
BA (Hons) Photography course leader James Smith will be joined by acclaimed photographers Amit and Naroop, Tessa Bunney and Cherie Carman to judge this year’s entries and award the first prize of a new Canon camera for each age category.
The 2021 theme
The 2021 competition invites entries on the broad theme of Community. Global events can make us think about what it means to be part of a community on many levels: personal, local, rural, urban, national and international. From family, friends, carers and neighbours to people who share the same interests, dreams and ideals, what unites on the planet we share?
Students are invited to enter up to three photographs and/or one piece of moving image, by the deadline of Friday 25 June 2021.
For full information and to apply, please visit the Beyond the Frame website. Shortlisted entries will be displayed in an online exhibition from July 2021, and the winners will be announced in July 2021.
