Interior Design student wins salon refurbishment competition
All second year students pitched their refurbishment designs to Damien McKay, director at John Oliver’s hairdressing group.
Second year BA (Hons) Interior Design student Elizabeth Barrell was awarded first place in a refurbishment live project for a local hair salon.
The students were tasked with renovating the interior of an existing salon in Norwich. The project challenged students to think about how they can transform space in order to make it functional, yet remaining aesthetically pleasing and creating a sense of identity.
Elizabeth produced a clean, minimalistic design with warmer tones in key designated spaces. Her response to the brief saw her win a £100 gift card from Damien.
