NUA graduate’s work features in New York Fashion Week
The concept of a “Create-Your-Own” sustainable clothing collection, devised whilst studying a BA (Hons) Fashion course at NUA, has taken graduate Alice Potts to New York Fashion Week. Alice creates complex garments from a series of interlocking squares and was selected by designer management company Sechs Element as the finale of their catwalk show in New York in September. Alice, who is now studying at the Royal College of Art, said her collection had been warmly received by other designers during New York Fashion Week. “I really believe that the collection I made at my BA at NUA could be a really beneficial way of reducing fast fashion,” she said. More of Alice’s work is available to view on her website.
