Tom French, BA Graphic Design, wins BrandOpus Chrysalis Awards with concept for sustainable drink brand ‘Power Plant’

BrandOpus tasked creative students to create a new drinks brand with a ‘distinctive and compelling sustainability story at its heart’. Third year BA (Hons) Graphic Design student Tom won the brief with his idea for ‘Power Plant’.

‘Power Plant’ is a botanical infused energy drink on a ‘mission to reduce emission’.

Tom’s idea for the brand centres around using direct air capture technology to purify and compress carbon dioxide which then carbonates the drink.

Taking inspiration from Russian constructivism, Tom’s design focuses on strong typography interspersed with coloured shapes resulting in a modern packaging design.

The winning prize for the brief is £2,000 and a month-long work placement with BrandOpus.
