Best Student Film win at Top Indie Film Awards
A team of BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production students have won Best Student Film at the Top Indie Film Awards 2019.
Their drama Fifth Stage, made during their second year at NUA, was one of eight student films selected worldwide for the accolade at the festival in Tokyo, Japan. The short film captures the essence of the hardship and isolation that older people can suffer, and focuses on the effects of loss and bereavement.
The team behind the film is producer Luke McGarrigle along with Drew Hardman, Eleanor Needham, Vaineta Keraityte, Lauren Walker and Chloe Boston. They comment, “We are all so proud and delighted to have been a part of this film. We really feel that this film will shed light on personal struggles and a nationwide issue of loneliness within the elderly communities”.
