Student wins Richardson Brown Travel Prize 2019
BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion student Emily McLeister wins the annual Richardson Brown Travel Prize
The Richardson Brown Travel Prize is offered annually in memory of Frances Brown, a former student who left a legacy to NUA in her will to fund a £500 travel bursary. The prize is awarded to an eligible second year student who has shown excellence in their studies.
BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion student Emily McLeister submitted a strong application to the panel which consisted of Hilary Carlisle (Dean of Design & Architecture), Richard Sawdon Smith (Dean of Arts & Media) and Hannah Linsdell (SU President).
Emily used the prize money to fund a trip to Denmark in August to attend Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW), where she undertook work experience as a Writer and Photographer for Nordic Style Magazine.
“My experience at CPHFW was invaluable to my studies at Norwich University of the Arts. My transferable skills have really been developed – including my time management skills; my ability to meet deadlines; my organisational skills and my teamwork skills.”
