Molly Agnew, BA Architecture, wins student category at DCA Awards 2021
The Design and Craftsmanship Awards (DCA) is a collaborative event by The Norfolk Association of Architects, the Norwich Society and Civic Voice. These three organisations work together to celebrate building excellence across the county.
Third year BA (Hons) Architecture student Molly has won the Student category at the DCA Awards.
Molly’s project explores the disconnected relationship between food production and the consumer. Her proposal exposes the relationship between these two factors.
The building design has space for a working farm to support the food market on the street below.
Molly’s concept lowers the environmental footprint from production process, by removing need for transportation and additional food miles. Her design features living sections of roofing and walls, rotisserie farming and space for beekeeping.
The final design shows the food production process through a transparent lens, whilst raising awareness of the need for sustainable agriculture.
Fellow third year student Sean Hendley, and recent graduate Valeria Golban were also Commended in the same category.
