4 top independent coffee shops in Norwich
Norwich has its fill of independent coffee shops and roasters to suit all tastes and moods — for your cup on the go or to while away some time. Here’s four of our favourites we reckon you should try while in the city.
1. Bread Source
Although technically an artisan bakery, Bread Source is all about great coffee accompanied by a delicious pastry or slice of toast from one of their handcrafted loaves. Now with three central Norwich locations- Upper St Giles, Norwich Market and Norwich Lanes- as well as their bakery counter, there are ample opportunities to peruse Bread Source’s offerings.
2. Alchemista
Situated in Norwich’s St Gregory’s Alley, Alchemista sources the very best coffee from across Asia, Africa and South America. Aiming to offer a boutique coffee experience, Alchemista also offer coffee-based cocktails if you’re after a boozy caffeine fix!
3. Strangers Coffee Company
You can find the Strangers award-winning coffee shop and roastery within the Norwich Lanes, and their newest coffee shop in All Saints Green.
The three brothers behind Strangers have spent over a decade learning the skills of the industry, focusing on the quality and ethics of the coffees they source, roast and serve. Head to one of their cafes for a coffee accompanied by homemade cakes and sandwiches, or grab a takeaway or bag of beans from the roastery!
4. Kofra
Quality, traceability and sustainability are an integral part of Kofra, a quality coffee roaster and brewer. With sites now in Norwich’s NR2, NR3 and Upper St Giles, you can get your fix in all parts of the city, and the Upper St Giles location also offers a selection of natural wines. Head to Kofra’s website to have your beans delivered and learn more about brewing methods.
