5 things to do in Norwich this weekend

Heading to our Open Day on Saturday 13 November and not sure where to explore in Norwich? We’ve got you covered in this blog.

1. Brew and Friends Makers Market, St Andrew’s Hall

Saturday 13 November 10am-4.30pm.

Located next to our St Georges Building is St Andrew’s Hall – a space for festivals (beer and music!), live events, markets and more. Brew Norfolk is holding a curated makers market with over 50 stalls.

There will be food, gifts, kitchenware, jewellery, candles, florals and art.

2. Norwich Film Festival

We’re proud supporters of this festival – as is Hugh Jackman, Stephen Fry, Olivia Colman, Brian Cox (and our Dean of Arts and Media Professor Richard Sawdon Smith) to namedrop a few.

In 2021, the festival returns both in-person and online and tickets start from £3. There’s screenings, talks and Q&As.

3. ThankFunk at Mysabar

Mysabar came out of the need for more outside space post-pandemic. And in popped up Mysabar, a Scandinavian inspired outdoor bar with pop-up food, live music and general vibes. It’s free entry, you just need to pre-book a table and you can enjoy laid back funk and soul music this weekend.

4. Grayson Perry: The Pre-Therapy Years, Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts

If you’d like to venture slightly further out than the centre of Norwich, we recommend heading to the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts to check out this ‘groundbreaking’ exhibition.

The ceramics exhibition showcases work made by Grayson Perry between 1982 and 1994.

5. Historic ‘Hidden Street’ Tours

Did you know Norwich has a maze of underground streets? You can explore a web of tunnels and streets in this tour, learning about the history of the City and seeing an entirely hidden world.
