Staff and graduate styling collaboration success
The work of BA (Hons) Photography graduate Kerry Curl (pictured) in a collaboration with BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion Course Leader Alex Hill has been selected to be one of 100 photographs to feature in the prestigious British Journal of Photography’s Portrait of Britain exhibition.
Chosen from more than 8,000 submissions, the work will be on show around the country on a network of digital screens in public places: from airports to shopping malls.
Kerry’s portrait came from a creative collaboration with the model, India, and Fashion Communication and Promotion Course Leader Alex Hill.
“Joined by mutual friend and stylist Alex Hill, we spent a sunny afternoon casually shooting in Norwich whilst watching music channels on TV and chain-drinking coffee. The shoot is part of a body of work which explores how a vintage influence can be contemporary; curating from the past does not mean that the images themselves are ‘retro’. These style influences are all around us in the here and now, they are current.”
