NUA Graduate Bethany Voak collaborates with IKEA and Zandra Rhodes on KARISMATIK collection launch show
Bethany worked on a garment design, which was then shown at the IKEA KARISMATIK launch show.
Bethany, a graduate of BA (Hons) Textile Design, is currently studying a MA in Textiles at the Royal College of Art (RCA). Since graduating, she has interned at PriestmanGoode and Alexander McQueen studios in London.
“I was chosen alongside two other students from RCA and 20 creatives across the world to take part in a virtual ‘meet-and-greet’ with IKEA and Zandra Rhodes,” said Bethany.
IKEA then posted a length of the collection fabric to each selected designer. Each designer used the fabric to design a garment for the launch show.
“The fabric is really inspiring, so I wanted to harness the same energy in my garment,” said Bethany.
“Zandra’s print channels exuberance and flair, so matching it with my deep-toned bodice adds an element of drama and grace.”
Bethany’s garment featured in a live show held on the global launch website.
