Courses
Norwich University of the Arts offers three year undergraduate BA and BSc courses and one year postgraduate MA courses in a range of creative subjects. There are also four year undergraduate degree courses available in select subjects.
Applying
You can apply for undergraduate courses online via UCAS and in some cases the University will accept direct undergraduate applications.
For MA courses you can apply directly to Norwich; please contact the International Office for all direct application forms.
NUA will accept applications up to 5 weeks before the start of term. Courses commence in September only.
After applying
After completing the application, candidates from Japan must submit a digital portfolio of creative work. Candidates are supplied step by step guidance throughout the process.

Japanese students are required to hold an English language qualification. Both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants are required to have a minimum IELTS exam score of 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each section. Equivalent English language qualifications are acceptable, IB English language syllabus A or B/English Literature (Grade 4).
Undergraduate academic requirements
Year 0 entry
Most undergraduate degrees at Norwich University of the Arts offer a Year 0 (four year degree) option. Find out more about Year 0.
The Year 0 option has lower academic requirements to the typical three year degrees. If you would like to discuss the entry requirements for Year 0 entry please contact the International Office.
Year 1 entry
Students applying from Japan need to complete the Kotogakko Sotsugyo Shomeisho (Upper Secondary School) plus one of the following:

- BA or BSc Degree with a 2:1 or equivalent in a subject related to your proposed course of study. Contact the International Office to discuss your qualification.
- Kotogakko Sotsugyo Shomeisho (Upper Secondary School) with a minimum of 4 in relevant subjects.

Norwich Accommodation
Students can choose to live in NUA student accommodation or the private sector for their first year. NUA offers single bedrooms in its new dormitory, All Saints Green and Beechcroft. The all-inclusive cost of student accommodation is between £99 – £176 (14,720 – 26,170 JPY). There is abundant private housing available from £75 (11,152 JPY) per week.
As Norwich is a small city, students generally live close enough to campus to walk or cycle. There are good transportation links to the rest of the country, including London, and students are eligible for discounts on all national road and rail networks.
