Funding
The open call states that funding up to £20,000 will be available per candidate. How will the actual amount of funding be determined?
The value of the Fellowship grant is £20,000 payable in instalments over the duration of the Fellowship. If for any reason the Fellow does not participate in the Fellowship for the full duration of the programme (10 months), the grant will not be paid in full.
Is there a suggested payment schedule at this stage?
The grant will be paid as follows: £5,000 paid upon signing the Fellowship contract at the beginning of the agreement, a further 2 payments paid over the agreed duration of the Fellowship.
Up to a further £4,000 will be paid in research, material or artwork production costs, subject to presentation of appropriate invoices and receipts throughout the duration of the Fellowship.
Will Norwich University of the Arts cover additional costs for my travel, accommodation, and living expenses?
No, the Fellows are expected to pay for their travel, accommodation, and living expenses from the £ 20,000 grant provided.
We’d like to propose to hold some events during the fellowship – is there an additional budget for this?
You will make at least two presentations of your proposed research project, to take place during the agreed period of the Fellowship, including an introductory lecture during the initial stages of your Fellowship, and a public talk to coincide with your exhibition.
You will work with the gallery Curator to stage a range of appropriate activities to engage and exchange knowledge with academic staff, Norwich University of the Arts students, and the public. There is a limited additional budget for these events.
Any other workshops, events forming part of the research development of the Fellows’ projects will need to be covered by the £ 4,000 grant provided for production.
