Fine Art graduate work selected for Tate billboard

BA (Hons) Fine Art graduate Chloe Chenery has had her work selected for a Tate billboard exhibition in London.

Tate asked 16-25 year olds to creatively respond to iconic artworks from the Tate Britain and Tate Modern collections, including pieces by Wassily Kandinsky, Guerilla Girls and John Everett Millais. 48 works were chosen from over 800 submissions, with winners seeing their artworks displayed across London billboards for two weeks from 10 August.

Chloe graduated from BA (Hons) Fine Art in 2020, and is a text-based artist specialising in cut-up poetry. The technique recontextualises words to give them new meaning, and even tabloid magazines can be made poignant. For Tate’s open call, Chloe responded to the painting Reborn Sounds of Childhood Dreams l by Ibrahim El-Salahi and used text from Tate’s description of the piece on their website.

Her billboard is available to see on Wells Terrace in London’s N4 until 24 August. To view more of Chloe’s work, take a look at her Instagram
