Read BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production student Dan’s top five reasons to study a course at Norwich University of the Arts. Written by Dan Franklin.
1. Practising tutors
Almost all teaching and technical staff here at NUA are practitioners in their field, meaning they are still active and developing within their own discipline. A great benefit as they can offer helpful guidance on what the industry is moving towards or looking for in new talent.
2. Creative community
Notorious with studying a subject within the Arts, networking is arguably one of the strongest and most useful tactics to develop your career and NUA is one of the best environments to network while enjoying the journey of your chosen study, in the heart of Norwich. Studying alongside 2,000+ creative individuals that can inspire and aid you in your creative decisions.
3. Collaboration opportunities
The ‘Interchange’ unit in year 2 offers you the opportunity for cross-course collaboration, enabling you the benefits of working with students from different courses to work on a project together, learn new skills and share your practice.
4. Encouragement of personal projects
The tutors encourage you to pursue personal projects outside of your course syllabus and develop your portfolio. This encouragement is helpful due to the support of staff offering their advice with those projects on request.
5. Industry ready
Here at NUA we are super proud to say that many of our courses are ScreenSkill Select accredited, meaning what is delivered in the course has been certified to be industry standard and ensures we’re receiving a high level of education. We also have amazing industry guests that give lectures on campus to us regularly!
We still have places to study a degree course from September 2019.
