Industry opportunities
Our courses offer exciting and challenging opportunities for students to showcase their talents, from participating in live briefs and competitions to 12-month diplomas focused on professional development or creative computing.
Creative Professional Development Diploma
Our Creative Professional Development Diploma gives you the chance to spend a year exploring your post-uni job options through a structured programme of input sessions and work-based learning. This year offers two much-sought-after industry placements – the first lasting six weeks, the second 12 weeks, and a group project or ‘hackathon’ exploring freelancing and business start-ups.
Creative Computing Diploma
Our Creative Computing Diploma introduces you to coding and computational skills that will advance and complement your creative practice. No prior coding experience is needed; you need a curiosity about creative computing and a desire to push your practice into new realms. You’ll also develop a wider knowledge of the creative tech industries, available roles and opportunities.
Live briefs
Live Briefs provide an excellent opportunity for our students to experience working with employers on real business problems or challenges. They are invaluable to our students, developing not only their practical, subject-specific skills but also their employability skills and awareness of the challenges of the world of work.
Competitions
We also encourage students to enter national and international competitions in a wide range of disciplines. Some of these are extremely prestigious, and even if you don’t win, the experience of taking part and working to a set brief can be hugely beneficial.
Work Experience
Taking part in one or more periods of work experience whilst you are a student could make a real difference to your learning and career prospects. Although you don’t have to undertake work experience as part of your degree, it can be a great way to develop your skills, gain industry insight and build your confidence while studying.
Job opportunities
Whether looking for a part-time job whilst you study or full-time employment once you graduate, thanks to close ties with our community and industry, we advertise and provide links to loads of great opportunities in the region and further afield
