1. Us – Jordan Peele (2019)

Whilst being on a vacation in Santa Cruz, what could possibly go wrong for the Wilson family? Until, they are disturbed by a family of four and realise that the people attacking them look very much like them.

2. Get Out – Jordan Peele (2017)

Chris, An African-American man, decides to visit his Caucasian girlfriend’s parents during a weekend getaway. Although they seem normal at first, he is not prepared to experience the horrors ahead!

3. The Silence of the Lambs – Jonathan Demme (1991)

Clarice Starling, an FBI agent, seeks help from Hannibal Lecter, a psychopathic serial killer and former psychiatrist, in order to apprehend another serial killer who has been claiming female victims.

4. The Shining – Stanley Kubrick (1980)

Taking us back to the 1980’s with an all-time classic we have The Shining in which Jack and his family move into an isolated hotel with a violent past. Living in isolation, Jack begins to lose his sanity, which affects his family members.

5. Joker – Todd Phillips (2019)

Now for one of my all time favourites! Arthur Fleck, a party clown, leads an impoverished life with his ailing mother. However, when society shuns him and brands him as a freak, he decides to embrace the life of crime and chaos.

6. Split – M. Night Shyamalan (2016)

Kevin, who is suffering from dissociative identity disorder and has 23 alter egos, kidnaps three teenagers. They must figure out his friendly personas before he unleashes his 24th personality.

7. Glass – M. Night Shyamalan

Following Split, we get to explore Kevin’s journey further with even more eerie personalities in which David Dunn tries to stay one step ahead of the law whilst delivering vigilante justice on the streets of Philadelphia.

His special talents soon collide with the Beast, a superhuman with 23 personalities. Their showdown leads them to encounter a criminal mastermind who knows all too much about these two men.

8. Bird Box – Susanne Bier

When the population is decimated by a mysterious power, only one thing is clear – if you see it, you will die. The survivors must now avoid confronting an entity that takes the form of their worst fears face to face.

A woman and her children embark on a dangerous journey through the woods and down a river in search of hope and a new beginning to find the one place that could give sanctuary. They would have to shield their eyes from the evil that is following them to make it happen – and complete the trip blindfolded.

9. You – Netflix Series

For love, what will you do? This question is put to the test for a bookstore manager who crosses paths with an aspiring writer. When the writer becomes the manager’s obsession, a charming but uncomfortable crush becomes something far more sinister.

Using social media and the internet, he uses every weapon at his disposal to get close to her, going so far as to destroy every barrier that stands in his way of getting to her- including people.

Killing Eve

10. Killing Eve – Phoebe Waller – Bridge

Last but not least! Killing Eve is a series in which we see Eve as a bored, very knowledgeable, very desk-bound MI5 security officer.

Villanelle is a very skilled killer who clings to the luxuries of her work, mercurial in nature. In a fierce game of cat and mouse, Eve and Villanelle go head to head, each woman equally obsessed with the other as Eve is charged with tracking down the psychopathic assassin.
