Roy Stewart
Roy Stewart is a Digital 3D Evening and Saturday Technician at Norwich University of the Arts
I have over 10 years of experience in the games industry working on a variety of platforms from consoles through to modern PC mostly in 3D but with plenty of experience in 2D. I have worked on 6 published games (including Worms and Lego Island 2). I’m a technical artist primarily working in the fields of level design and asset creation, but I have a varied experience across the board. I have always been interested in computer graphics and visualisation predominantly in the field of Realtime visualisation.
My software experience is extensive ranging from 2D applications like Deluxe Paint on the Amiga through to 3dsmax, Autodesk Maya and currently championing Blender. (And lots more in between!). For the purpose of 2D asset creation, 3D modelling, lighting and texturing also the rendering of 3D/2D scenes. I have been involved with beta testing of many published games and applications and I have also worked in the field of CAD design and in the creation of rendered material for E-learning.
I’m also a walking encyclopaedia to the history of games so if you would like to chat about anything to do with games past or present then I’m all ears! I’m based in the Saint Andrews tech office and offer help and support for students across the campus.
